Image
Detail

Memorial in the foyer of the Christchurch railway station in Addington. As the information board states, this nameplate was originally fitted to the locomotive AB 608, which in 1925 was named Passchendaele in honour of the 450 railwaymen who died in the First World War. An identical plaque is mounted at Dunedin railway station.
